ECCO

True passion is essential to making great shoes. From drawing the first sketches to presenting our finished shoes in ECCO stores around the world, we apply the utmost attention to detail and quality.

Unique to our industry, we make leather at our own tanneries and produce shoes at our own factories. Our global family of employees, representing 60 nationalities across the globe, is the driving force behind our products. Design, development, production, and retail – we take responsibility all the way.

At ECCO, we are guided by respect for our heritage, our call for innovation, our quest for excellence, our dedication to care, and our passion.

We care about creating and maintaining strong, positive relationships with our colleagues, our partners, our customers, and the societies in which we live and work, with respect for diversity.

Our work is based on quality craftsmanship, and we challenge convention as we strive for uniqueness.

Innovation is a cornerstone in ECCO. We are constantly seeking to disrupt and provide improvements for the footwear and leather industry. To us, innovation is all about defining new standards, and we acknowledge that we cannot lean back and build the future on experience alone.

At ECCO, we never cease to question the things we do.

ECCO’s workforce is diverse, covering several generations and a multitude of nationalities.

Being different together, while maintaining a rigorous focus on craftsmanship and quality, is key to driving innovation.

ECCO was founded in 1963 by Birte and Karl Toosbuy. Trained as a shoemaker, Karl Toosbuy had a dream to own a shoe factory and run his own business. Therefore, the family decided to give up the security of regular jobs, sell their home, and move to Bredebro in southwest Denmark – just north of the German border.
